Focus Group Discussion (FGD): Market Opportunity and Foreign Cooperation for Private Sector and Philanthropy

Directorate of International Development Cooperation, National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), in collaboration with GIZ Indonesia and Indonesia Business Links, organized the Global Partnership Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in the formulation of the National Action Plan for SDGs: Market Opportunity and Foreign Cooperation for Private Sector and Philanthropy on 23 November 2017 at Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta. This is a continuation event from the drafting workshop of the National Action Plan for Sustainable Development Objectives (TPB / SDGs) 17 Goals on International Development Cooperation in October 2016. The participants were representative from government, private sector, and civil organization.

Mrs. Yanti Triwadiantini, Chairman of ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) was delivered the keynote speech. She was addressing about the opportunites to collaborate among ASEAN countries: Business Integrity and Anti-Corruption; Business and Human Rights; Sustainable Agriculture; Gender Equality; and Enviromental Sustainability: Climate change adaptation and resilience. She emphasized that there will be a need for co-creation to build multi-sector partnership among government, private sector, and civil society organisation.

The next agenda was a discussion session about Building Global Partnership through CSR delivered by PT Adaro Energy Tbk, and Improving the Roles of Corporates in South-South and Global Cooperation to achieve SDGs delivered by QUICK, a Small Medium Entreprise from Jogjakarta, Indonesia. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Mohamad Fahmi, Executive Director of Indonesia Business Links.

The objective of this public dialogue is to develop an Action Plan for the implementation of 17 objectives on SDGs which related to international develepment cooperation and to provide input for filling the matrix of the Action Plan together with private sector and philanthropy.
