On January 6th 2015, Indonesia Business Links had a great opportunity to welcome Pemda (local government) Gunung Mas and Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta at our office. In this special occassion, IBL, Pemda Gunung Mas, and Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta shared their experiences especially in CSR issues. The objective of this visit is to gain knowledge from IBL’s experiences and seek opportunity to build partnership program.
As a relatively new district in Central Kalimantan that was established in 2002, Gunung Mas has special concern in their development program. In collaboration with Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta, they are trying to improve the quality of Gunung Mas governance. Gunung Mas was ranked number 5th of Human Development Index in 2014. Gunung Mas also have many mining and plantation companies regarding its rich natural resources.
Pemda Gunung Mas realized that CSR program also has important roles in supporting Gunung Mas infrastructure development. In order to get more knowledge about CSR project, Pemda Gunung Mas and IBL shared their ideas about the importance of sustainable CSR. They also discussed about the challenges faced by Pemda Gunung Mas and Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta especially in their previous study project about CSR. The results and recommendation of the study was presented by Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta to Bupati of Gunung Mas on December 2nd 2015 and the study got approval from Bupati.
Yanti Triwadiantini, Executive Director IBL shared her more than 15 years experiences with IBL in promoting CSR program and activities in Indonesia. She also emphasized the significant roles of corporate, government, and civil society in supporting development program. CSR is not only seen by how corporate run their program but also how it gives impact to society life. Based on this meeting, IBL, Pemda Gunung Mas, and Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta look forward to having an opportunity for future collaboration especially in partnership program.
